According to details, two death row convicts Muhammad Riaz and Muhammad Fayyaz were executed in Mirpur Central Jail.
The convicts were awarded death penalty in 2005 over the murder of former President Supreme Court Bar, Fazal Rabbani and his son for resisting a robbery attempt in the victims’ house.
Stringent security measures were taken before the execution while a meeting between convicts and their family members was arranged on Thursday.
Riaz Muzaffar and Fayyaz Shafi were hanged after their mercy pleas were rejected by Azad Kashmir President Sardar Yaqoob.
