SP Akhter Farooq told that police on Friday apprehended four extortionists from Zaman Town area of the metropolis.
He told that among the four arrested accused, one named Shahid used to coerce money by identifying himself as Rangers inspector.
Officials also recovered valuables and other stolen goods from their possession.
Moreover, the accused were shifted to the police station for further interrogation.
