Talking to media here, Maulana said he was opposed to military courts on ‘principle grounds’, however he supported them due to unavoidable circumstances.
Government and security institutions had termed military courts inevitable.
He regretted that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took opposition parties into confidence while preparing draft of the amendment bill, but ignored his party.
He said the new law in the offing could become controversial if religious institutions were the target.
Maulana urged the government not to rush and grant some time to the parties for debate on constitutional amendment.
