Military has nothing to do with treason case, says Secretary Defense

ISLAMABAD: Secretary Defense Lieutenant General (Retd.) Asif Yaseen has said that the treason case against the former President and Army Chief General (Retd.) Pervez Musharraf is pending in the Special Court and Pakistan Army has nothing to do with it, ARY News reports.

Speaking to media outside Parliament House here on Tuesday, Asif Yaseen said that the military has nothing to do with the treason case as none of the military's serving officer is facing any trial. He added that no comments can be made on the treason case as it is still pending.

He further said that he was unaware of any application given to hold the case according to the Army Act. While answering a question, he stated that the process of issuance of Coalition Support Fund (CSF) is working in a correct manner and the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar can disclose the statistics in a better fashion.

Asif Yaseen further said that the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) is an excellent institute for cardiac problems and has all the facilities for treatment.
