Earthquake tremors shake Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of KP

ISLAMABAD: Several cities across Pakistan were jolted by an earthquake on Tuesday, sparking panic among residents, ARY News reported.

According to details, tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and multiple cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Abbottabad, Mansehra, Mingora, Chitral, Swat, Battagram, Malakand, Haripur, and Khanpur.

The tremors caused people to rush out of their homes and offices in fear, many reciting Kalma-e-Tayyaba.

The Seismological Center reported the earthquake’s magnitude at 5.2, with its epicenter located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan at a depth of 190 kilometers.

Authorities confirmed that no casualties or property damage have been reported so far.

It is worth noting that in June, tremors were also felt in parts of Sindh and Balochistan.

At that time, Mirpur Khas recorded a quake of 3.5 magnitude, while Gwadar experienced tremors measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale.

Another quake was also registered near Mirpur Sakro with a magnitude of 3.1.
