According to unofficial and unconfirmed results, PMLN candidate Hassan Riaz bagged 39,610 votes in the by-elections in PP-162 Narang Mandi, in tehsil Mureed Ke of district Sheikhupura. His opponent and the independent candidate, Usman Nisar stood runner-up by securing only 22,502 votes.
Polling for the by-elections in the constituency started at 8 am in the morning and concluded at 5 pm.
Meanwhile, PMLN workers resorted to severe aerial firing as an expression of their happiness over the win of PMLN candidate, Hassan Riaz in the by-polls in PP-162, of which the Punjab CM took serious notice and directed the authorities for an indiscriminate action against all those involved in it.
