LAHORE: Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 57 runs in the second game to secure the three-match PAK vs BAN T20I series at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday.
Chasing 202, the visitors’ inning ended at 144 in 19 overs, with Tanzim Hasan Sakib top scoring with 50 off 31 balls.
Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon provided a quick start to Bangladesh, sharing an opening stand of 44 in 3.4 overs.
However, Emon’s (8) dismissal sparked a collapse, which saw Bangladesh lose five wickets for 12 runs.
The opening batter was dismissed by Haris Rauf in the fourth over, while his opening partner fell to Faheem Ashraf in the very next over.
Tanzid Hasan made a quick 19-ball 33 with the help of five fours and a six.
Captain Litton Das was removed by Hasan Ali on six, while Abrar Ahmed dismissed Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali on successive deliveries in the seventh over.
The twin strikes by Abrar Ahmed left Bangladesh reeling at 56/6 in 6.4 overs, as they chased the mammoth target in the second PAK vs BAN T20I.
Shamim Hossain (7) became the Pakistan spinner’s third victim in the game, while Rishad Hossain fell to Shadab Khan on one, as Bangladesh were reduced to 77/7 in 9.5 overs.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Tanzim Hasan Sakib then stitched a 33-run partnership to take their side past the 100-run total.
Miraz departed after making 23 off 17 balls, while Shakib was dismissed after scoring 50 runs.
Bangladesh’s inning ended at 144/9 in 19 overs as Shoriful Islam did not bat after suffering an injury during Pakistan’s inning.
Earlier, Sahibzada Farhan and Hasan Nawaz smashed quick fifties as Pakistan set a 202-run target for Bangladesh in the second game of the three-match PAK vs BAN T20I series at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday.
Opting to bat first, Pakistan suffered an early setback when Saim Ayub fell short of his crease on four.
His opening partner, Sahibzada Farhan, was joined by Mohammad Haris, and the two stitched a 103-run partnership to take the home side to 115 in 10.5 overs.
Haris was removed after scoring 41 off 25 balls, with the help of four fours and two sixes.
Hasan Nawaz then joined Sahibzada Farhan, who completed his maiden T20I fifty on just 29 balls.
The opening batter’s inning came to an end in the 12th over after scoring 74 off 41 balls, helped with four fours and six sixes.
