Cracker attack on police camp leaves four injured in Karachi

KARACHI: A police camp in Karachi’s Quaidabad area was attacked by unknown individuals from a bridge, leaving four including three personnel injured ARY News reported.

The attackers used crackers to target the security camp, which was set up for Eid security measures. The injured personnel were initially taken to a private hospital at Dawood Chowrangi for medical treatment and later shifted to Jinnah Hospital.

Later, the authorities said that a Russian-made hand grenade was used in the attack on security camp in Quaidabad. The grenade, identified as an RG-42, contains 64 grams of explosives. Although the grenade’s lever was not found at the scene, 4-5 fragments of the device were recovered.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Kashif Aftab Abbasi said that the police camp was established as part of Eid security measures in the area. The injured personnel include an SSU commando, who sustained minor injuries along with the other two personnel.
