ISLAMABAD: Bilawal Bhutto has said that the President in his address to the parliament positively warned the government over the issue of new canals and commented over its one-sided policies.
Talking to media in the Parliament House, PPP Chairman said this decision straining the federation and demanded a unanimous solution of the issue.
“There are apprehensions in Sindh over the decision of new canals from Indus River,” Bilawal said. “There must be a unanimous decision over the new canals from Indus,” he stressed.
PPP leader said that the prime minister was informed about the People’s Party’s reservations over the issue at the Iftar dinner. “Hopefully our dialogue will be continued with the government,” he said.
Bilawal called the narrative a falsehood that the People’s Party has been silent over the issue of river water. “The People’s Party has always raise its voice over the apportionment of water,” he said.
Bilawal Bhutto said the matter of canals, has been an issue belonging to the Council of Common Interest (CCI) while the CCI’s session has not been summoned for one year.
