KARACHI: Police requested for further physical remand of Mustafa Amir murder case accused Armaghan, who was produced in the anti-terrorism court on Tuesday after completion of his remand period.
The Judge asked about progress in the investigation from the investigation officer. The I/O replied that the murder weapon and DVR have been recovered. He requested for further physical remand of the accused until March 17.
Defence lawyer Abid Zaman said that over 20 days have been passed and opposed further remand of the accused to police.
Another defence lawyer Sara Asim said that the DVR and the murder weapon a baton, had been recovered earlier.
Defence lawyers Abid Zaman and Sara Asim filed plea in the court for submission of the challan of the case. “The FIR was registered on February 06 and the accused has been in police remand for over 15 days,” Armaghan’s lawyers said.
“Police investigation has been completed, the accused should be sent to jail on judicial remand,” lawyer Abid Zaman argued.
Mustafa Amir was kidnapped and allegedly murdered by his friends in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on January 06.
According to the police, the youth’s friends stuffed his body in the trunk of his car and torched it in the Hub area of Balochistan.
The case has garnered widespread attention, with recent updates shedding light on the prime suspect, Armaghan. Investigators have uncovered details regarding his business dealings, digital currency accounts, and other activities.
Forensic teams are also analyzing evidence seized from his residence, including laptops and other materials. The investigation remains active as authorities work to uncover the full truth behind the case.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) traced four companies linked to Armaghan, the prime suspect in the case. From these companies, two are registered in Pakistan, while the remaining two are based in the United States.
