ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister Khursheed Shah’s statement about the caretaker prime minister has ‘fumed’ Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), ARY News reported on Sunday, citing sources.
Shah in his statement had said that they were unaware that Senator Anwaarul Haq Kakar would be appointed as caretaker Prime Minister. PPP had finalized five names which included Saleem Abbas, Jalil Abbas, Muhammad Malik and Afzal Khan from KP, he added.
Shah had further said that it would have been better if someone else was appointed as caretaker PM.
The senior leadership of the party has sought an ‘explanation’ from Khursheed Shah over his statement regarding Anwaarul Haq Kakar.

The sources said Khursheed Shah’s statemnet was against the party policy and he expressed his opinion without consulting the PPP’s leadership.
The PPP leaders have been asked to avoid commenting on the issue of caretaker PM, the sources said.
It may be noted Senator Anwarul Haq Kakar was selected as Pakistan’s caretaker prime minister. President Arif Alvi also signed the advice forwarded by PM Shehbaz and Raja Riaz in this context.
