ISLAMABAD: Chief Census Commissioner has said that the data collection for 7th house and population census will wind up tonight, ARY News reported on Monday.
Census Commissioner Naeem-ul-Zafar has stated that the country’s overall population has reached to 24,95,66,743 persons. “Punjab’s total population has been counted to 12,74,74,802 people”, he said.
“Sindh’s overall population has been enumerated upto 5,79,31,907,” top census official said.
He said that the data collection for house and population census will be completed tonight. He denied any complaint with regard to any malfunction or fault in the census counting system. A transparent mechanism was used for the census, he added.
The federal government last Friday extended the field operation of digital census again after withdrawing its previous decision to not make any extension.
The field operation of the digital census was extended till May 22 (today) in provinces other than Balochistan. The verification process of the population census will be continued till May 31.
