Rawalpindi: Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa was awarded oil tanker driver Muhammad Faisal who drove an ablaze oil tanker away from a petrol pump risking his own life, ARY News reported.
According to a statement released by the Inter-services Public Relations (ISPR) the Chief Of Army Staff has awarded the tanker driver for his selfless act of driving the tanker for 3 km after it caught on fire.
On June 7, the tanker driver showed great bravado in Quetta, for which he has been awarded a cash prize on special orders by the COAS in Core Headquarters Quetta, the ISPR statement said.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Shareef had lauded tanker driver Faisal’s bravado who drove a blazing truck out of a petrol pump without caring for his own life.
Head of Prime Minister’s Strategic Reforms team Sufi Salman called the truck driver Faisal and applauded him for his selfless act on behalf of the PM.

The PM had also ordered to call Faisal to Islamabad and reward him. Faisal’s bravery to save others’ lives is priceless, the PM said.
