RAWALPINDI: Four testing companies swindled hundreds of millions of rupees out of jobseekers through fake adverts inviting applications for various posts, a reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in an accountability court revealed.
The anti-corruption watchdog today filed the reference, nominating Syed Tajamul Hussain, the owner of the companies, as accused.

The companies cheated public at large by inviting applications for various vacancies through fake ads, the reference disclosed.
Cumulatively, a sum of Rs45 million was swindled out of over 100,000 citizens, the bureau said and added the testing firms would charge Rs1,000 to Rs3,500 per candidate as a processing fee.

The NAB said arrest warrants were issued for the accused with raids conducted to arrest him but to no avail.
