The passenger bus was travelling to Samahni from Mirpur when the driver lost control due to overspeed and the bus fell into a ravine.
Police and rescue personnel reached on the spot and retrieved the dead bodies and injured persons out of the bus with the assistance of locals present at the place.
Sixteen passengers lost their lives in the accident while score of others sustained injuries.
The injured and bodies were shifted to Mirpur district hospital for medical attendance.
