ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the cabinet committee on national security was underway here with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in chair, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
Prior to the meeting Army chief Gen Raheel Sharif called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Prime Minister’s Advisor on National Security Sartaj Aziz‚ Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali‚ Defence Minister Khawaja Asif‚ Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid attending the meeting along with armed services chiefs and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee.
The meeting is likely to finalize the national security policy.
Director General Military Operations (DGMO) briefed participants of the meeting on the internal security situation.
COAS General Raheel Sharif before the meeting on national security called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and discussed the national security issues.
