KARACHI: The number of polio cases in Karachi this year reached to seven with another polio case surfaced in the city on Friday, ARY News reported.

With the new case of polio the total number of cases in the country reached to 84 so far this year.

A child of a family residing in Landhi, identified as Murad, has been the latest victim of the crippling disease.

Pakistan is one of three countries in the world where polio is still endemic and efforts to stamp out the disease resisted by the militants with repeated attacks on the vaccination teams.

Afghanistan and Nigeria are other two countries in the world with polio cases. The infectious disease can cause irreversible paralysis.
