NEW DEHLI: There are bleak chances that Prime Minister Imran Khan will be receiving an invite for the oath taking ceremony of India’s designated PM Narendra Modi.

As per Indian media reports, PM Khan will not be invited for the oath taking of Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) leader, who has been reelected to office in recent Indian polls.

The oath taking ceremony is scheduled on May 30, which will witness leaders of various countries. Presidents of Sri Lanka, France, Russia and prime ministers of Israel and Bangladesh will be invited for the occasion, according to Indian media.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) reported yesterday that PM Imran Khan telephoned his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and congratulated him over electoral victory for the second term.

Expressing his desire for carrying out joint efforts for the betterment of their nationals, PM Khan urged Modi to work together for peace and development of the region.

India’s counting of hundreds of millions of votes in its general election last Thursday showed a coalition led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party taking a landslide lead.
