Schedule of KP CM’s visit to tribal districts released

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has released schedule of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan’s visit to the tribal districts commencing from April 8 (today), ARY News reported on Monday.

The KP government has decided to expedite work on ongoing development projects in tribal districts of erstwhile Federal Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) merged into the province.

In this connection, CM Mahmood Khan will visit tribal districts to review the progress.

According to the schedule, CM Khan will visit Khyber Agency on April 8 (today) and Bajaur Agency on April 12. He would pay visits to Kurram Agency and North Waziristan on April 15 and 22 respectively.

On April 25, the chief minister will arrive in Orakzai Agency and head towards South Waziristan on April 29.

After completion of visits to the district, CM Khan will spend a day in Khyber Agency again on May 2.

Earlier in the day, KP CM Mahmood Khan has ended a longstanding issue relating to security forces which were performing duties in tribal parts of the province.

In a major development, the Chief Minister Mahmood Khan announced merger of Khasadar and Levies forces into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police, ARY News reported.

CM Mahmood Khan acknowledged services of Khasadar and Levies personnel for maintaining peace in the province. He said that sacrifices rendered by the Levies and Khasadar Force were not hidden from anyone.

The chief minister vowed that further issues being faced by personnel of the two forces would also be resolved.

He announced that 28,000 officials of both forces will be merged into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police, whereas, the personnel would be given additional training for wielding law and order situation.
