SUKKUR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday conducted a raid in a Sukkur neighbourhood and filed a case against town municipal officers over charges of massive corruption, ARY News reported.
The Town/Taluka Municipal Administration officers, as well as contractors, were caught by NAB in TMA Garhi Yaseen. Sources said majority of the officers were appointed by Speaker Sindh Assembly and former local government minister, Agha Siraj Durrani.
The references were filed against 17 officers and 29 contractors on charges of Rs 110 million corruption.
The NAB court has also released arrest warrants for the persons nominated by the accountability watchdog.

Under the court directives, contractor identified as Asadullah Sheikh has been arrested. “Other people nominated in the case will be arrested soon,” said the sources.
On March 2, the NAB had traced a number of Sindh government officials for alleged links with Durrani and their involvement in corruption.
The anti-corruption watchdog had demanded complete record of 24 government officials from the provincial Secretary of local government.
These government officials were wanted for the investigation against Agha Siraj Durrani, sources had informed.
The names of these government officials are: Bashir Isran, Hameedullah Qureshi, Yar Mohammad, Rehmatullah, Mansoor Ali, Sagheera Begum, Masood Ali, Mohammad Irfan, Ran Nawaz, Tufail Ahmed, Zulfiqar Ali, Mohammad Jaffar Brohi, Ghulam Murtaza, Khan Mohammad, Shamshad Khatoon, Shakeel Ahmed Soomro, Abdul Hameed, Mitha Khan, Noor Hassan, Anwar Ali, Syed Mohammad Shah and Zulfiqar Ali.
