A meeting member also proposed that philanthropists must also contribute their share in the project as well as supervising it.

PM Khan asked officials to take every possible step for construction of shelter homes.

The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had initially planned at least five shelter homes will be constructed in different cities of Punjab under the project.

The shelter home project is aimed at housing a number of homeless people who usually spend nights on footpaths or other places in different areas of Lahore city.

The PM maintained that on his recent visit to China, he expressed his desire to learn from the neighbouring country about their poverty alleviation measures and will implement a similar plan in Pakistan.

The government, on September 11, had also announced to introduce a special programme for street children to educate them and bring them into mainstream.
