Youth to bring fourth industrial revolution in Pakistan: President Alvi

ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi on Wednesday expressed confidence that Pakistani youth will propel the country into the 4th industrial revolution, Radio Pakistan reported.

Addressing the opening ceremony of 2nd International Conference on Communication, Computing and Digital Systems at a university in Islamabad, the president stressed the need for training the youth, as revolutionary changes are taking place fast in science and technology and the industries are demanding skilled individuals.

“Our youth will grab the opportunities afforded by technological developments and bring the 4th industrial revolution in Pakistan,” he said.

Alvi emphasized that  Naya Pakistan will only be established if knowledgeable people come forward and play their part to attain objectives of socio economic development.

The president said he will also meet the vice chancellors of 24 universities to motivate them for proper training and education of country’s scientists.

Referring to his initiative in the artificial intelligence, Alvi claimed the project will help produce thousands of trained people in artificial intelligence and cloud computing.

Talking about the challenges of cyber security, the president said it is important to secure systems including those in the banks and others from any sort of hacking and cyber-attacks. “We have to be on guard vis-a-vis protection of important installations from any cyber-attack.”
