PM Imran to embark on Turkey visit next week

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will embark on a two-day visit of Turkey next week to strengthen bilateral ties.  

According to the details, the prime minister will arrive in Ankara on Thursday (January 3) and hold meetings with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other high officials during the tour, said sources.

The premier will address a business forum in Turkey to offer attractive investment opportunities in Pakistan. PM Imran Khan’s visit to Turkey will open new chapter of cooperation, said the sources.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Minister for Planning and Development Khusro Bakhtiar and Adviser to PM on Commerce and Textiles Abdul Razzaq Dawood will be accompanied by the PM Imran Khan during the visit.

It is pertinent to mention here that PM Imran Khan, on December 20, had said that Pakistan was looking forward to enhance bilateral cooperation with Turkey in fields of trade, defence and others.

These remarks were made by the PM, during his meeting with Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar, who called on him at his office today in Islamabad.
