ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday said that the PM-elect Imran Khan is committed to make Pakistan a country its founder Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, ARY News reported.

During his speech in National Assembly after his party chief was elected as PM, the PTI leader said that Imran Khan’s policies, unlike the previous PMs, will be inclusive in nature “providing equal representation and opportunities to smaller provinces and religious minorities”.

Qureshi maintained that the opposition’s noisy protest could not let Imran Khan complete his speech otherwise he would have first presented himself for accountability as leader of the house.

The National Assembly session earlier elected former cricket legend and PTI chief Imran Khan as country’s 22nd prime minister.

Imran Khan secured 176 votes, while his opponent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif received 96 votes.
