UNITED NATIONS: A top United Nations (UN) official praised the positive role of Pakistan at the global body in promoting peace and advancing various other causes of the UN.
The United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Global Communication Alison Smale expressed her thoughts during a reception organized by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UN Maleeha Lodhi in New York.
“Pakistan’s police contribution is the largest in peacekeeping forces of the UN,” she appreciated while further asserting that Pakistani troops risk their lives to carry forward the UN’s mission of peace.
US Democratic Congresswoman Carolyn Malony, who was a special guest at the largely-attended reception, stressed on the importance of cultural exchanges to foster stronger relations between the United States and Pakistan.
Ambassador Lodhi also stated that sustainability of peace is the common objective of the UN and Pakistan.
