HYDERABAD: At least 10 people including nine women and a minor were killed and three others injured when a passenger van collided with a truck on Tando Muhammad Khan road near Husri, rescue officials informed media on Monday.
Soon after the incident, concerned officials reached the spot of the accident and initiated rescue and relief operation.
All the injured and bodies were shifted to nearby hospitals.
According to the rescue sources, a truck collided with a Suzuki van carrying workers of a private company, killing at least 10 people including nine women and a child.
Three women were also injured in the mishap, officials said.
However, no details with regard to identification of the passengers could be ascertained immediately.
The local authorities have yet to comment on the death toll and details of the accident.
A rise in number of road accidents has been witnessed in the province mainly owing to poor infrastructure of road networks, dim or no street lights, violation of traffic rules, besides rash and underage driving.
