KARACHI: A person was shot dead while two robbers were arrested in injured condition following a shootout in the city’s Shahrah-e-Faisal area, citing police sources ARY News reported on Saturday.
According to the local police, three robbers were busy looting people emerging from the Karachi Airport. As a police team approached them, they opened fire in a bid to escape.
As a result, a passer-by received fatal firearm wounds and died on the spot, a police official said, adding that when the police party retaliated, two robbers were injured.
He said the injured suspects were taken into custody while another managed to flee from the scene.
The identities of the deceased and arrested robbers could not be ascertained immediately.
