ISLAMABAD: The federal government has denied all the rumors and media reports that the President of Pakistan has received a massive hike in his monthly salary after the announcement of Budget 2017-18, ARY News reported.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, the government categorically rejected the impression that the pay of the president has been increased to Rs. 1.6 million per month.

“It is clarified that in the current financial year monthly salary of the President is Rs. 80,000 per month i.e. Rs. 960,000 year which has now been proposed Rs. 130,000 per month in the new budget.

“Thus, after the approval of budget 2017-2018,  his pay for a complete year will be around 1.6 million rupees and not for a month,” read the statement issued by the federal government.
