Japanese national ‘commits suicide’ in Multan

MULTAN: A Japanese national allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the roof of a hotel building in Multan, ARY News reported on Thursday.

The Japanese man identified as Okomora Katasumi reportedly jumped off the roof of a hotel located at Purana Bahawalpur Road of historic Multan city in south of Punjab.

Police has collected CCTV footage from the hotel and documents from the suicide scene. The dead body was shifted to Nishtar Hospital for postmortem.

Sources said that the deceased had written a letter to his family found from him. According to officials, police will get the help of a translator to know the content of the letter written in Japanese.

Late Okomora Katasumi was an engineer by profession and was working at a project of the National Highway Authority in Dera Ghazi Khan. He was living in a hotel in Multan for past two months, sources said.

According to media reports, police has sealed the hotel and investigating into the incident.
