LAHORE: A contempt of court petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court against Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.
Petitioner Sheraz Advocate said in his plea that Chief Justice LHC Mansoor Ali Shah had declared appointment of Director General Environment Protection Department Javed Iqbal illegal and issued subsequent orders for new DG’s appointment.
However, the chief justice’s orders were not complied with, contended the petitioner.
He said DG Iqbal was still working on his authority.
He urged the court to initiate contempt proceedings against the Punjab chief executive for violating court orders.
