Two suspected terrorists killed as Karachi operation intensifies

In a bid to restore peace in the city, Rangers and police officials are conducting operations in the city with major successes.

Rangers officials claimed to have foiled a terror attempt in the city and killed two alleged terrorists during a search operation on a tip-off.

According to Rangers spokesperson, the suspects, belonging to a banned outfit, were planning attacks on August 14 in Karachi.

On the other hand, police have arrested at least 17 suspects during search operations in different areas of the city.

Officials said, police conducted a raid in Pak Colony area and arrested two suspects, Abdul Rafique and Fazal Kareem, wanted in the murder of Dr Preetam Das while recovering weapons and a purse of the slain doctor.

The doctor was killed a few days back while resisting during a robbery attempt in Karachi, police said.

Meanwhile, 15 suspects were also arrested during separate operations in Gulshan Ghazi and Ittehad Town in the city.
