The city was expecting a sigh of relief after scorching temperatures since the last three days. The mercury had shot to 40 degrees which severely affected the lives of people in the city.
According to reports, heavy rainfall was witnessed in SITE area, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Malir, Nazimabad, Super Highway and several areas, while some other areas saw slight drizzle.
The meteorological department had predicted rain in the city in the upcoming 48 hours. Earlier monsoon rains had lashed several parts of the country.
