SHC issues notices on MQM worker killing

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday issued notices to the government of Sindh, Additional I.G. and SSP East  over killing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker Mohammad Salman, ARY News reported.

The bench also ordered the officials against intimidation of the family of the slain MQM activist.

The petition was filed by the father of Salman and MQM leader Asif Hasnain.

Mohammad Salman, a MQM worker of Korangi Sector, was allegedly taken into police custody from Korangi Crossing area on Feb 3 and his body found in a locality near Quaidabad.

The petitioners made AIG Police Karachi Shahid Hayat and SSP East Pir Mohammad Shah as party in the plea.

The petitioners said that Muhammad Salman was killed in torture during detention and sought registration of case against the policemen responsible for the killing.
