Four policemen suspended for torture on MQM worker

TOP NEWS

KARACHI: Four policemen were suspended for assaulting a Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker, who was arrested last night, ARY News reported on Sunday.

MQM worker, Fahad Aziz, was arrested by police team during his wedding ceremony in Shah Faisal Town on Saturday night on charges of his alleged involvement in criminal activities. In reaction, MQM leaders raged against the move and staged a protest demonstration at Chief Minister House, demanding release of the arrested party worker. Police said Fahad was required to them in several cases of crime.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain will also hold a telephonic press conference from London today at 5pm.

Sources said Fahad had now been shifted to a nearby hospital, following torture on him by the police during investigation.
