Shahid Pasha was arrested by Rangers personnel in a raid at his residence in Gulistan-e-Jauhar early Monday. He was produced before an anti-terrorism court (ATC), which remanded him in Rangers’ custody for 90 days.
The MQM Coordination Committee, in a statement, condemned Pasha’s 90-day remand saying, “The people have continuously been reposing their confidence in the party, but the establishment is adamant not to recognize this mandate”.
It bemoaned that the party is being subjected to constant ‘state oppression’.
The MQM Coordination Committee demanded immediate release of Shahid Pasha and putting an end to ‘fake cases, accusations and subsequent arrests’.
