Supreme Court to resume proceedings for Karachi unrest case from today

According to details, hearings for the Karachi unrest will be held at the Supreme Court Karachi registry today. A larger bench consisting of five members has been constituted by the Chief Justice which will be headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali. Judges who will be part of the bench include Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani, Justice Gulzar Ahmad and Justice Athar Saeed.

The court had issued notices to the federal and provincial governments, D.G. Rangers, I.G. Sindh as well as other administrators, who have been summoned to Supreme Court Karachi registry today.

It must be borne in mind that the Supreme Court is resuming proceedings for the Karachi law and order case today after a gap of twenty months. The Supreme Court had taken a suo moto notice of the illegal land-grabbing and terrorism which was taking place in the city.
