Still, seventy-five percent of the city was still without electricity. According to sources, it was half of the city would receive electricity supply by the time Friday prayers are offered. Sources also claimed the 500 kV transmission line of WAPDA which supplied electricity to Karachi, was also restored.

The city experienced yet another major power outage when a blast occurred inside a transmission near Super Highway. As a result of the blast, a major part of the city was suddenly steeped in darkness. Among the areas affected by the electricity breakdown were Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Karsaz, North Karachi, Old City Area, Saddar, Kiamari, Lyari, Federal B. Area, Baldia Town, Clifton and Shireen Jinnah Colony. According to a tweet by K-Electric, WAPDA’s 500 KV transmission line which supplies electricity to Karachi, tripped. As a result, eighty-percent of the city was without electricity. K-Electric’s spokesperson said operations have begun to restore electricity to the city but a timeframe for when the issue could be totally resolved could not be provided.
