TTP summons shura'a meeting to ponder upon Gov't announcement of talks

PESHAWAR: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has welcomed the Government's decision to hold peace talks and called a meeting of its supreme council (shura'a) to ponder upon the situation after PM Nawaz Sharif's announcement of a committee for negotiating with Taliban – ARY News reports.

According to details, TTP spokesperson, Shahidullah Shahid stated on Wednesday that the organization stands united under the leadership of Mullah Fazlullah. He also mentioned that the TTP chief Mullah Fazlullah is not against meaningful negotiations.

He said that TTP welcomes PM Nawaz's announcement for holding a dialogue and a meeting of Taliban shura'a has been called which will be chaired by the TTP supremo, Fazlullah.

Shahid added that the meeting will ponder upon the post-announcement situation and the Government of Pakistan will be informed about decisions made by Taliban shura'a in a few days.
