Justice Farrukh Irfan heard the petition filed by a citizen named Ishtiaq Ahmad who stated that every Pakistani national has the right to information as guaranteed by the constitution of Pakistan.
He added that it will be a violation of the law to stop the media from announcing the unofficial and unverified results of the LB Elections.
Ahmad pleaded the court to declare the ban on announcing the unverified result void.
The judge granted the permission to the media to announce the unverified results and remarked that the channels will announce the results an hour after the voting process ends and the media has to identify each result as unverified.
