According to details, Karachi Police arrested a hitman named Wasi Haider from the jurisdiction of Federal B. Area Police Station. The law enforcement agencies have claimed that the suspect has confessed of killing religious leaders including Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai, Maulana Abdul Majeed Deenpuri and Hafiz Mohammad Ahsan.
DIG West Feroz Shah said that Haider is also involved in the killing of police officer Nasir-ul-Hassan and Sindh High Court employee Basheer Ahmad.
The authorities stated that the the alleged target killer shot dead Mufti Shamzai on 31st May 2004 and later targeted Maulana Deenpuri on 31st January 2013.
