PESHAWAR: A cop was gunned down by unknown persons outside a temple here on Sunday, ARY News reports.
According to police, a cop was performing his duties outside a temple in the area of Hashtnagri as armed persons opened fire at him due to which he was killed on the spot.
The armed persons were on a motorcycle and fled from the scene.
The deceased police officer received seven bullets. The bullet shells have also been recovered.
Police surrounded the area after the incident and carried out a search operation. The body of the killed cop was shifted to a hospital for legal procedures.
