US welcomes Pak-India talks

US Secretary of State John Kerry, speaking in a news conference, has said that the country wants to see peace bilateral ties between Pakistan and India.

Pentagon Spokesman John Kirby lauded the negotiation process between the two Asian countries and said that they should resolve their issues through talks only.

He urged the two countries to take all steps to reduce the tensions between them.

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met in Russian city Ufa on Friday. The two countries have expressed readiness to discuss all outstanding issues to promote peace and development.

Indian PM Modi has accepted the invitation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of visiting Pakistan next year.
