According to Washington Post, Bangura in her report has stated that Islamic State separated women and men before executing the males after they attacked an unnamed village. She wrote that the captured women are sold, with those who are more attractive getting higher prices.
Bangura also stated that around 3,000 to 5,000 women have become slaves to the terrorist group.
The U.N. representative also mentioned that she had heard of a 20 year old girl was burned alive after she refused to perform an “aggressive sexual act” with the terrorist. She also mentions that many other women have been subject of such barbarism by the Islamic State militants.
She also states that hundreds of Yazidi women and girls have escaped from IS’s clutches running away or being saved by their families.
