The secretary defence Lieutenant General retired Alam Khattak told the standing committee on defence that the deadly Peshawar school attack was a reaction of Pakistan army’s operation against terrorists adding that a large area of North Waziristan agency has been cleared of terrorists.

Khattak further informed the committee that three Pakistan army officers and 199 soldiers sacrificed their lives during the operation.

The secretary defence said that terrorists will find no place to hide within Pakistan.

It must be noted that operation Zarb-e-Azb was launched by the Pakistan Armed Forces on 15 June 2014 in North Waziristan as a renewed effort against militancy in the country.
