22 killed, 37 injured in blast near pilgrims' convoy

MASTUNG: At least 22 people were killed while 37 others were injured as a powerful blast occurred near the bus of pilgrims in Dareen Garh area on Tuesday – ARY News reports.

According to details, more than 50 pilgrims were travelling to Quetta from Taftaan under Levies security. Meanwhile, a massive blast took place near Mastung and at least 22 people were killed while several others were injured.

Rescue and security teams immediately rushed to the site, shifted 2 dead bodies and 37 injured including 8 women to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta.

Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) officials told that some 100 kg of explosive material was used in the blast, whilst Lashkar-e-Jhangvi has claimed the responsibility of the incident.

Moreover, Allama Abbas Kumeli, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat ul Ebad and others have strongly denounced the attack.
