Police told the deceased included residents of Youhanabad, Nishtar Colony, Asif Town, Bihar Colony and Modern Colony, while another man is under treatment at Jinnah Hospital. The patient was said to be in precarious condition.
Officials said that all of the victims purchased liquor from same man two days ago, consuming which their condition deteriorated and they were taken to different hospitals.
The deceased were identified as Gohar Masih, Boota Masih, Shakil, Aslam, Sunny, Nabeel, Sunny Masih, Shehzad, Asim, Samuel and Akram. The identity of two more persons is yet to be ascertained.
Police shifted all the dead bodies to Jinnah Hospital for post-mortem, where it was confirmed that they died of consuming poisonous liquor.
